About the FLD

Florida Downtowns, Inc. (“FLD”) is a 501(c)6 nonprofit organization that represents the diverse network of business improvement districts, downtown development authorities, and other organizations and entities focused on the management and enhancement of Downtowns and other urban districts throughout Florida.

The mission of FLD is to support the success and vitality of Florida’s Downtowns and other urban districts. In furtherance of its mission mission, the FLD provides programs and services in alignment with four strategic pillars:

  1. Legislative Advocacy: State-level legislative advocacy for the interests of Florida’s Downtowns and other urban districts.

  2. Collaboration: Fostering collaboration among representatives from Florida urban place-management organizations and entities.

  3. Research: Development and examination of urban place-management best practices and the community value of downtowns and other urban districts.

  4. Education: Disseminating information concerning best practices and principles in the management of Downtowns and other urban districts.

Established in 2020, FLD is committed long term preservation and prosperity of Downtowns and other urban districts throughout the Sunshine State!
